Here are a few things catching my eye lately including some very affordable finds that I might just treat myself to if I'm not broke at the end of the weekend!

Ponytail Issue #3

nieves zines

So there's this awesome iPhone/iPad app that lets you read even more awesome zines now. It's free and each zine is only 99 cents so now you can stock up on your zines to carry with you everywhere and best part, you're doing it without all that obtuse paper consumption.

And while we're on the topic of zines, our newest one is still for sale in our new etsy shop! Use the coupon "WUTTER" to receive 20% off your order. We'll be filling it up with lots of other goodies in the coming weeks. :D

I could live in hope.

Things are looking up!  I was able to walk around Harvard Square coatless with iced coffee in hand over the weekend!  In a couple days, I'll be on the bus to New York to meet up with some of my favorite people.  Plus, people have started receiving Tilde Journal in the mail and saying all kinds of nice things.  Not a bad week!

My roommates and I have not been the best at keeping plants alive (mostly thanks to a bit of time when we all went home for the holidays), but this one's a trooper!

I originally bought this skirt at a thrift store figuring I'd hack some off, but I've grown to like the length. My favorite thing about fashion is how quickly my opinions of what is awful change - if you told me this time last year I'd be wearing a maxi skirt, I'd have asked you how much I was being paid.

When I got home yesterday, this just felt like the right thing to do, so I did it.  It's nice when life is simple like that.

Occasionally, I'm awake enough in the morning to appreciate how great the cracks of sunrise that sneak into my room are.

jessie henson

Recently (while tumbling of course) I came across Jessie Henson's mixed media wall installations of interior spaces. Some of her materials for this 2006 series include embroidery floss, yarn, ink and photo transfers. I'm always a huge fan of understated and calm pieces, so naturally I'm the newest rider on the Jessie Henson bandwagon. You can find more of her work on her online portfolio, http://jessiehenson.com/.

P.S. Don't forgot to go pick up your issue of the newest Tilde Journal in our etsy shop! Use the coupon "ONEDAYONLY" to save 30% for the rest of the day.

bubblegum and pink

I promise this isn't turning into a blog about my supercool friend Pam, but, well...I have another entry inspired by my supercool friend Pam! We went to a very good Mountain Goats show last night and she came over afterward to drink gin and ginger ales and talk about sixties music for a few hours. She ended up taking control of my computer and downloading nearly 100 bubblegum pop gems that I've only just begun to work through. That coupled with the temperature finally rising a smidge above fifty degrees has filled my heart with pure glee today - definitely a good mood for letting a little brightass pink into my heart!
