poolside

As much as I love my oversized marled-gray sweaters and scarves, the past few days of surprisingly warm weather in Austin has me longing for spring and even more warm days - mostly because I'm ready to get a little sunshine and prance around in my swimsuit. Opening Ceremony's newest collection of swimsuits has me coveting a floral vintage-inspired one-piece to wear while basking on the side of the pool (also need to work on the pool situation...).

bubblegum and pink

I promise this isn't turning into a blog about my supercool friend Pam, but, well...I have another entry inspired by my supercool friend Pam! We went to a very good Mountain Goats show last night and she came over afterward to drink gin and ginger ales and talk about sixties music for a few hours. She ended up taking control of my computer and downloading nearly 100 bubblegum pop gems that I've only just begun to work through. That coupled with the temperature finally rising a smidge above fifty degrees has filled my heart with pure glee today - definitely a good mood for letting a little brightass pink into my heart!

Color Therapy

February in Boston is a bummer for someone more accustomed to warmer climates such as myself - winter magic has worn off and I haven't quite developed the kind of endurance to function in the cold for more than a couple months. Bright-ass colors to the rescue! Nothing cheers me up these days quite like rosy hues with occasional shocks of yellow, and, of course vegetation - which I'll patiently experience as best I can on the internet until I can have it in real life once again.

carly's ~springspiration~

here in florida, spring has finally arrived! the skies are perfectly blue and it's a warm 70 degrees, but not humid (you'll know this is perfect weather if you're acquainted with summers in the south) yet.  i couldn't help but together a little spring inspiration post to celebrate!
