We just stocked our Etsy up with some very lovely 5"x7" prints of work from our Tilde Journal contributors including Caroline Knowles, Stephanie Turmelle, Kensey Crane, Ena Kosovac, and Tricia Gilbride.Quantities of the print packs are limited, so if you'd like to be guaranteed one, hop on over to our etsy shop! They're only $10 for five prints aka a bargain! We've also bundled some up with a copy of the second issue of Tilde Journal in case you missed out on already purchasing it!

To celebrate this, we're giving away one of the bundle packs which include a copy of each of the prints and the second issue of Tilde Journal!  All you have to do to enter is comment with your email address and your favorite thing about summer time. We'll pick a winner a week from today! (April 21st)


We're now accepting submissions for the summer-themed mini issue of Tilde Journal. If you're a fan of summer and have some summery poems, photographs, recipes, drawings, stories, etc to share, send them our way! We'd love to see them.

We would also like to include a summer food & drink spread! Let us know your favorite things to cook on the grill, camping snacks, summer cocktails, etc. along with a 1-3 sentence description. what would willow wear?

In my down time (well let's not kid ourselves...MOST of my time), I've been re-watching the first seasons of Buffy the Vampire slayer (no shame).  The only ones just kind of suck because Angel isn't in them, and to be honest, those shirtless scenes were really the only thing keeping me watching. The other one? Willow's collection of fuzzy sweaters. I owned a few back in my day and am a bit sad that I let them all go.

Luckily, some kindred spirit out there created a tumblr dedicated just to Willow's wardrobe! Behold an enviable collection of happy face backpacks and corduroy overalls.

It's a bit weird to me seeing so many pictures of mountains and forests pop up on Tumblr.  It's nice, yes, all that majestic beauty...but it kind of makes me wonder who has any intention to actually (and what I'm about to say is sacrilege, so prepare yourself) get off the internet.

I think a nice little celebration of a comfortable distance from nature is in order!

Every now and again, the world seems to collectively embrace a person and I'm kind of giddy right now with all the Donald Glover/Childish Gambino love. Rapping about Tina Fey and APC? Yes, please! The photos Ariel Rosenbloom took for Bullet Magazine are as close to perfect as you can get, too!  Napping on rocking chairs in a plant and kitty filled room with Mr. Glover is definitely my idea of a good time. 

Sea things are achingly beautiful, but I must confess that they creep me out quite a bit.  Not the idea of them, but the thought of touching them - I'm fine with trudging through mud, but the second my feet encounter seaweed,  I fear for the worst.  I hope to get over it one day, but fifteen years of living near Galveston taught me to assume the ickiest. For now, I'll just look at these illustrations from Phillip Henry Gosse's 1860 book Actinologia Britannica - a History of the British Sea-Anemones and Corals via Bibliodyssey.

This photo by Dean Conger from a 1966 issue of National Geographic is kinda my ultimate dream.  I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but I'm sure all that would go away the second I had the opportunity to pet a real, live bear!  Give me one on the smaller side and the protection of a turquoise vehicle, and we're set.

I could live in hope.

Things are looking up!  I was able to walk around Harvard Square coatless with iced coffee in hand over the weekend!  In a couple days, I'll be on the bus to New York to meet up with some of my favorite people.  Plus, people have started receiving Tilde Journal in the mail and saying all kinds of nice things.  Not a bad week! 


My roommates and I have not been the best at keeping plants alive (mostly thanks to a bit of time when we all went home for the holidays), but this one's a trooper!


I originally bought this skirt at a thrift store figuring I'd hack some off, but I've grown to like the length. My favorite thing about fashion is how quickly my opinions of what is awful change - if you told me this time last year I'd be wearing a maxi skirt, I'd have asked you how much I was being paid.

When I got home yesterday, this just felt like the right thing to do, so I did it.  It's nice when life is simple like that.

Occasionally, I'm awake enough in the morning to appreciate how great the cracks of sunrise that sneak into my room are.
